I graduated from medical school in Germany and specialised in neurology (the medical speciality of diseases of the brain and nerves). I moved to London in 2000 and spend two years in the National Institute of Neurology in London doing research in the field of neuroscience. At the same time I also trained in clinical hypnosis at the London College of Clinical Hypnosis where I acquired the Medical Diploma in Clinical Hypnosis in 2001. I had become very interested in hypnosis as a medical student following a introduction to hypnosis during an elective in psychiatry. My experiences during my time working in neurolgy had also clearly demonstrated to me how closely mind and body are connected. In addition to offering hypnotherapy I decided to broaden my knowledge of the human mind further by training in psychiatry and becoming a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. While maintaining some commitment within the NHS I offer hypnotherapy on a private basis making use of all my experience in hypnotherapy as well as in neurology, neuroscience and mental health.

Choosing a therapist is an important step, especially in Hypnotherapy, as many hypnotherapists have no or little medical or psychological training in addition to their degree in hypnosis. Unforunately, the standards required to obtain a degree in hypnosis vary considerably from institution to institution. I have compiled some information about myself, which may be useful for you to decide whether I can be of help to you on the way to achieving your goals.
